Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, becomes the first Nigerian female artiste to win a GRAMMY award.

The 65th annual ceremony was held on Sunday, in Los Angeles hosting many artistes from around the globe, bagging four nominations, Tems finally came through with her first win in the category of Best Melodic Rap Performance, for her writing contribution and vocals to American Rapper Future’s song, Wait for U, featuring Drake, and herself. With this she set her first record of being the first female artiste from Nigeria to win a Grammy, check out the music gurus in that category .

Congratulations to her for placing African female artistes on the world’s map, the whole of Africa is proud of her.

Parliament summons Minister of Finance Hon. Ken Ofori-Attah, for DDEP briefing.

8TH FEBRUARY 2023 Alban Bagbin, speaker of Parliament has issued a directive to the Business Committee of Parliament to summon Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Attah to brief the house on the Domestic Debt Exchange Program (DDEP) initiated by the government. This was as a result of the of the demands of the Minority Conclave, thus the National Democratic Congress, seeking for the policy details of the initiative due to the demonstration of pensioners, demanding exemption from the program at the Ministry of Finance. Guaranteeing the house’s readiness to support the government, Speaker Bagbin said, “Parliament is ever prepared to assist the government got out of this quagmire. So what I can say now is that parliament has spoken and that is the end of it. The minister must be scheduled by the business committee as early as possible because this is an urgent matter. “After all, the pensioners are picketing at the Ministry. We need to do this as quickly as possible. Business Committee must schedule the minister to appear before the house for a brief on the state of affairs,” Speaker Bagbin. Then the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mrs Osei-Asare, assured the parliament and its members they will be updated on the current situation.

The pensioners are demanding total exemption from the program, and as the institutions and individuals signing deadline expired on the 7th February 2023, the angry bondholders plan to demonstrate a third time this week, after Monday and Tuesday’s until their demands are hard and honored by the ministry. Finance Minister has cautioned without the assistance of the pensioners, and individual bondholders to the program, the effect will prolong the efforts of the government to revive the economy. Fire Guts Ghana Police Headquarters.

On Thursday, February 9, 2023, a couple of minutes passed 9 in the morning, the Ghana Police Headquarters reportedly caught fire and the cause of the outbreak is yet to be established. Investigations are still ongoing by the Fire Service, the fire reportedly, began in one of the National Operations Department, the fire service was there in time to get it under control, preventing the fire from spreading to other offices. In a brief statement by the Police, according to the Ghana National Fire service, with the exception of partial damages to the walls, windows and some other contents, there wasn’t any casualties recorded. “there is a fire outbreak in one of the buildings at the police headquarters in Accra. The Ghana National Fire Service is at the scene and have succeeded in bringing the situation under control.

There are no casualties and the cause of the fire is yet to be established. We wish to thank the Fire Service team and our officers who are assisting to ensure that the fire did not spread to the entire building” the brief reads. .

Yvonne Nelson talks about working with Akuapem Poloo.

On a media tour for the premier of Kotoka, which will come off on the 14th February, 2023, Yvonne Nelson had an interview, together with a couple of casts. In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, The Fifty- Fifty movie producer had good will to share about Haniya Rosemond Brown (a.k.a Akuapem Poloo), she disputed the perception out there about the actress’ character and stated she (Poloo) showed maturity on set, coming at the venue so early in the morning and patiently waiting around until 10 pm that her first scene was shot. “Akuapem Poloo came on set really early, and we shot her first scene at 10 pm, so she was on set from 6am, and she was so graceful, she was nice, she didn’t complain, and I kept you know apologizing, that I’m sorry,

we had rented the place so we had to shoot so many scenes, and she was really nice!” Yvonne said.
